I Have A Vision And A Mission . . .

I HAVE A VISION . . .

(LET GO AND LET GOD
BELIEVE, OBEY AND FEAR NOT)

A story is told of a man who accidentally fell off a steep cliff, and fortunately on the way down he managed to grab a branch which temporarily stopped his fall. He looked down and to his horror saw that the canyon fell straight down for more than a thousand feet. He couldn't hang on to the branch forever, and there was no way for him to climb up the steep cliff. So he began yelling for help, hoping that some passers-by would hear him.

"Help! Help! Is anyone up there? Help!"He yelled for hours, but no one heard him. He was about to give up when he heard a voice,
"John, John Can you hear me?"
"Yes, yes! I can hear you. I'm down here!"
"I can see you, John. Are you all right?"
"Yes, but . . . Who are you, and where are you?"
"I am the Lord, John. I'm everywhere."
"The Lord? You mean, GOD?"
"That's Me."
"God, please help me! I promise if You'll get me down
from here, I'll stop sinning. I'll be a really good person.
I'll serve You for the rest of my life."
"Easy on the promises, John. Let's just get you down
from there; then we can talk. Now, here's what I
want you to do. Listen carefully."
"I'll do anything, Lord. Just tell me what to do."
"Okay. Let go of the branch."
"What?"
"I said, let go of the branch. Just trust Me. Let go."
There was a long silence. Finally John yelled, "HELP! HELP! HELP! IS ANYONE ELSE UP THERE?"

Have you ever felt like John? We say that we want to know the will of God, but when we find out what it is, we can't handle it. It sounds too scary, too difficult. We decide to look elsewhere. When He says, "Let go of the things that stand between you and Me, and trust Me with your life," we are faced with "faith crisis."

The story illustrates that doubt prevails even at the most crucial point of life and death. I must confess I am equally guilty as John or even more so. Doing God's will isn't something that comes easily or naturally as well stated by apostle Paul in Galatians 5:17 where he mentioned the conflict between the flesh and the spirit "... and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish." I felt more like Moses, feeling both small and incompetent, not measuring up to the gigantic and seemingly impossible task. God wants us only to believe, obey and fear not.

In my times of searching and seeking the LORD as what to do with my life, He revealed this to me:
"Establish my church shaped in a Huge Cross
up in the hills overlooking Perth. Light it up
at night. Let it be a shining beacon to the world
below."
He even revealed to me the beautiful spot upon which He wants His church to be built. The spot is 2.5292 ha. in size, green and flat surrounded by some of the most beautiful homes and with a panoramic view of Perth and the suburbs. The problem is that it is presently a Park Reserve and when the Ministry of Planning was intending to rezone it for housing, the residents around and other interested parties were up in arms against such a move. So, it looks like it would remain a park.

To begin with, the task ahead is formidable. Yet God has such wonderful plans for the place. Initially, I set out to obey and on Sunday, 28 September 1997 at seven in the morning held a dedication service at "The Green Patch of Holy Ground", and claimed it for the LORD. It was attended by a significant number of thirteen people, including myself . . . a number that just happened without any plan or intention. We sang praises unto the LORD to the strain of music provided by Pastor Jeffrey Saw on his guitar.

It was a beautiful morning with a cool gentle breeze. The sun was shining. The sky was blue with slight traces of white clouds. When the service ended about an hour later, a strange phenomenon happened. Believe it or not, out of the blue, the sky darkened and the sun, surrounded by a halo of orange and gold, was seen glowing through the dark patch in the sky. All of a sudden too, the air was still. Tears wetted my eyes. I found myself on my knees, sobbing uncontrollably unto the LORD. All of us were struck with awe. Just how many cried and knelt down I cannot be sure, for I was too moved and touched by it all. At that point, I felt that God so real to me, and I was recalling the time when I was saved in 1979. I was also crying like a baby then!

Talk of signs and wonder, this was indeed God's supernatural sign, that which I was praying for. In retrospect, it's been seven long months now and I am still sitting, procrastinating, thinking, ignoring feelings, dreaming, waiting and asking for confirmation, defaulting by letting events decide and sliding by taking the path of least resistance. I must have ignored my gut feelings more times than I dare to count, offering hundreds of excuses and all sorts of rationalisation. I wanted to be sure, short of following the example of the classic story about a young man who flipped and pointed to the Bible pages while wondering what to do with his life. First he flipped his Bible open and pointed to Matthew 27:5 which says, "(Judas) went and hanged himself." Not satisfied, he tried again and landed on Luke 10:37, "Go and do likewise." Surely this could not be God's command, and at the last trial he arrived at John 13:27. He read, "What you are about to do, do quickly." We may laugh about it, but just think of the extent that man would go and his absurdity in trying to know God's will.

Symbolically, the strange phenomenon of the sun, never in all my life seen nor heard others seeing it before, bears significant interpretations. Our Holy God, glowing brightly in all wonders, clearly showing us the way to Him through the darkness of the world. This sinful world is largely enveloped in darkness ... but He bestows beauty and brightness on us when we reach out to Him. Significantly too, when we choose to walk with God and carry out His will, the road will be dark, the task hard as represented by the darkness beyond the halo ring. There will be disappointment, frustration and tremendous hardship including all conceivable perception of persecution and even execution. But Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your paths." Strangely enough, even with the eclipse of the sun our human eyes cannot withstand looking at it directly... but, we were all looking directly at the sun with spiritual awe and in absolute silence except for the crying and sobbing and our eyes were unaffected by its glare!

God has opened our eyes. He wants us to look towards Him. He wants us to submit totally to Him and carry out His will. He wants you to be among the chosen ones to build His church on the hilltop to ward off unwanted evils and to shower peace and harmony to the world below. In Isaiah 2:2-4 the LORD says,
"In the last days the mountain of the LORD'S
temple will be established as chief among
the mountains; it will be raised above the hills,
and all nations will stream to it. many peoples
will come and say 'Come, let us go up to the
mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God
of Jacob. he will teach us his ways, so that we may
walk in his paths..."

Thus, Let go and let God, Believe, obey and fear not.

Remember too,
What you do for Christ will last
Your earthly doings will pass
Let God's light shine on your life
As it did through the dark sky.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Greetings in the name of the Lord. His Holy Name be praised.
The endtimes are imminent. God is going to perform wonders
and miracles. For those who love Him and are faithful to Him,
they will inherit life eternal in all its splendour.

As a humble servant of the Lord, I have been directed to write
to you to share with you my "My Vision and Mission". You and I
know that with our Almighty God, all things are possible. I
want you to know that the purpose of my writing is not mainly
to seek financial support. I believe that whatever God advocates
it becomes His mandate, and He will see to its successful end.
He gives me the vision and He will see to its unfailing mission.

However, for those who share and want to be part of His Great
Commission, I suggest that you pray about it. Let God administer
to you. This vision offers good Christian businessmen opportunities
to invest in the Kingdom of God where heavenly yields are assured.
Your investments could also be in terms of service, advice, work or
or any other form as the Lord directs you.

THE VISIONARY CROSS BUILDING
Imagine and visualise a white cross structure, which is architecturally feasible, towering 7 storeys high on the Darling Range escarpment overlooking Perth in the daytime, and at night lighted up as a shining beacon to the world below!

SUCH A STRUCTURE CAN BE LIKENED TO THE STATUE OF LIBERTY IN US AND CHRIST STATUE ON THE MOUNTAIN IN RIO DE JANEIRO.

* Establishing the Darling Range as the "Prayer Mountain" which should attract Christians from all over.
* There will be 7 prayer levels for various needs and major issues nationally or otherwise.
* It would become a place of interest to attract tourists, thereby benefiting local businesses and the community as a whole.
* It will serve as a prominent landmark of Perth seen for miles around. Planes taking off and coming in to land will be feasted with the sight of the magnificent white cross.
